Abstract— This article reviews on the development of a new category motion sensors for vibration monitoring including linear and angular accelerometers based on molecular electronic transducer (MET) technology. This technology utilizes liquid not only as an inertial mass but also as one of the main elements in the conversion of mechanical motion into electric current. It is possible to achieve signal amplification close to 10. Motion sensors demonstrate wide frequency and dynamic range and sensitivity that are one to two orders of magnitude better than MEMS devices of the same size. They can provide an alternative paradigm in development of motion sensors in wide variety of applications including monitoring systems of complex engineering structures, seismic analysis of bridges and buildings, remote sensing devices, structural behavior and structure wind excitation measurement.

This paper puts forward a real-time angular tracking (motion capture) system for a low cost upper limb exosuit based on sensor fusion; which is integrated by an elastic sleeve-mitten, two inertial measurement units (IMU), two flex sensors and a wireless communication system. The device can accurately detect the angular position of the shoulder (flexion-extension, abduction-adduction and interna...
متن کاملNeural Monitoring With CMOS Image Sensors
Implantable image sensors have several biomedical applications due to their miniature size, light weight, and low power consumption achieved through sub-micron standard CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) technologies. The main applications are in specific cell labeling, neural activity detection, and biomedical imaging. In this paper the recent research studies on implantable CMOS i...
متن کاملInfluence of Rotation on Vibration Behavior of a Functionally Graded Moderately Thick Cylindrical Nanoshell Considering Initial Hoop Tension
In this research, the effect of rotation on the free vibration is investigated for the size-dependent cylindrical functionally graded (FG) nanoshell by means of the modified couple stress theory (MCST). MCST is applied to make the design and the analysis of nano actuators and nano sensors more reliable. Here the equations of motion and boundary conditions are derived using minimum potential ene...
متن کاملVibration control of flexible structures using fusion of inertial sensors and hyper-stable actuator/sensor pairs
This paper discusses sensor fusion techniques that can be used to increase the control bandwidth and stability of active vibration isolation systems. For this, a low noise inertial instrument dominates the fusion at low frequency to provide vibration isolation. Other types of sensors (relative motion, smaller but noisier inertial, or force sensors) are used at higher frequencies to increase sta...
متن کاملDevelopment of an Angular Measurement System by Linear Hall Sensors on Stepping Motors
An non-contact type application on the permanent magnet and linear Hall-effect sensors gauging rotary system is introduced in this paper. For such a contactless system, there will be low wear exhaust. This leads to a longer life span in association, and in particular, high reliability to achieve continuous use. The main component of the angular gauge depends on the Hall voltage under the rotati...
